Want to be one of the first to get your hands on Sky Glass? You can pre-register right now. Sky Glass, which is available in 43-, 55-, and 65-inch sizes, will start to roll out to some lucky customers from October 18, 2021. However, you’ll need to pre-register to make sure you’re at the front of that queue. Prices start from £13 a month for the 43-inch panel, with the 55-inch model costing £17 a month, and the top-tier 65-inch 4K TV starting from £21 a month.

Sky has even packed a Dolby Atmos soundbar under the display for improved audio and voice search allows users to interact with their telly without reaching for the remote. Sky Glass comes in three screen sizes – 43in, 55in and 65-inch – and there are five colours to choose from including Anthracite Black, Racing Green and Dusky Pink.

Alongside the new telly, there’s also a new Stream Puck set-top box that brings channels to any TVs you already own – that means you can watch Sky in other rooms without needing to feed wires through your walls.

It certainly seem appealing and to make this whole concept even more enticing, Sky offers its new Glass telly for as little as £13 per month. That’s very cheap, but before you get too excited that doesn’t tell the whole story.

You can’t buy Sky Glass on a pay monthly contract without coupling it with a bundle of channels. Start adding Sky Cinema, Entertainment, Sports or the option to watch in pin-sharp HDR and things can get pretty expensive.

For example, Sky Glass with a 43-inch screen (the smallest size) and Entertainment costs £39 per month. Add Cinema (£11), Sports (£25) and the HDR pack (£5) and you’ll be looking at a bill of around £80 per month.

Prices get even higher if you want a Sky Stream Puck (£10 per month for Multiroom to stream around the house and £50 per Puck) or a bigger screen. The 55-inch model costs £17 and 65-inch £21 per month.

Sky Q + Netflix Subscription

You can now unlock the biggest channels from Sky Q, including Sky Atlantic, Sky Comedy, MTV, and Sky Sports News, as well as a Netflix subscription for just £26 a month. Given that Netflix alone costs £10 a month, this deal for the latest Sky Q kit, hundreds of satellite channels and access to 500 on-demand boxsets to binge is pretty special. There are also some great deals if you want to add Sky Sports and Sky Cinema down the line too!

All of this could leave you with a bill of over £100 per month and that doesn’t include the fast broadband connection you’ll need in order to be able to watch any of these amazing 4K television you’re paying for.

Sky is confident this new way of watching TV is what customers want and it will be interesting to see just how many people sign up.

If the price hasn’t put you off you can register here with Sky Glass being made available from October 18.

Speaking about Glass Dana Strong, Group Chief Executive, Sky said: “Sky Glass is the streaming TV with Sky inside, providing the total integration of hardware, software and content. Built on over 30 years of understanding what our customers want, this is a TV that only Sky could make. We believe this is the smartest TV available, and that customers will love it.”
