Federal Judge Orders Removal of Trumps Public Lands Chief

A federal judge on Friday ruled that a top Trump administration official has been illegally exercising authority because he hasn't been confirmed by the Senate. William Pendley has been the Bureau of Land Management's deputy director for policy and programs since July 2019, but he's been "exercising the authority of the director," according to the Department of Interior.
