What do you think when you think of social media and stories? Snapchat and Instagram, and possibly Facebook.
But little did we all know WhatsApp has had their own feature for stories since the beginning of 2017, but much like Facebook stories, it has somewhat failed to make as big an impact as its predecessors on Snapchat and Instagram.
The WhatsApp Status feature is so users can share public content with all of their WhatsApp contacts.
The premise of WhatsApp Status is much the same as traditional ‘story’ which is you can share a picture or video with your contacts for 24 hours, after which the picture or video will disappear.
To use WhatsApp status go to your app and click the status button at the bottom left corner.
Then just click ‘my status’ your WhatsApp profile picture should be on the icon when you have no status.
Then click the camera icon, you can then take a picture or a video and upload it to your status.
Add text, drawings, emojis and most importantly your own flare and upload the status.
One of the best things about WhatsApp status is that you can upload gifs with your own text, just click GIF search when you are looking for photos.
If you want to change your WhatsApp Status privacy setting then go to the status screen, then you will see privacy at the top in blue.
You can choose who you want to share your status with either your contacts, some of your contacts or only a few select people.
To see who viewed your status update click on your status and you will see an eye with a number under it to indicate who has viewed your story.
If you want to delete your status you can click the status and press edit then you can select which bit of your status you want to delete and click delete.
